Types of Let Explained
A Flat In Town offers a variety of letting options to tenants as we understand that the standard 6 month short assured tenancy doesn't suit everyone's needs. While long term lets are the core of our business, we have a number of short term properties too.
Whether you are performing in an Edinburgh Festival show in August, studying at the University, working in the city on secondment, moving while work is being carried out on your own home etc, we can offer accommodation for you in the city centre.
Long Term – These are lets of 6 months or more on our Short Assured Tenancy. The rents advertised do not include any bills and are per calendar month.
Short Term – These are lets typically of 1 – 4 months in length. The monthly price includes council tax and ongoing charges such as telephone line rental and reasonable use of broadband (where applicable). Utilities are normally charged per unit used at the rate set by the utility supplier (except where otherwise agreed).
Festival – These are flats mainly booked through the summer and are charged at a weekly rate. We call them Festival lets as the majority of these lets are booked in August but there are a number of other festivals in the city throughout the summer months that we also cater for. The weekly price includes everything included in the Short Term rate as well as reasonable use of utilities.
